Paolo Signorini was born on May 14, 1896 in Casale Monferrato and showed an early passion for military service. After completing high school, he entered the military academy in 1914 and was appointed as a lieutenant in May 1915. He fought in World War I and received several awards for his bravery, including the Silver Medal for Military Valor.
After World War I, Signorini continued his military career and rose to the rank of Colonel. In World War II, he led the 6th Alpini Regiment of the Divisione "Tridentina" on the Eastern Front. During the retreat from Russia in January 1943, he suffered a heart attack and passed away on February 1, 1943.
The museum was opened in Casale Monferrato in 1988 and is located in a building dedicated to Signorini's memory. It houses a collection of memorabilia, photographs, and documents that document his life and military achievements.
